Session 1:The Great Bake-Off: Breads, Cakes & Pies

Middle School (1 PM – 4 PM): Young pastry chefs will dive into the science of baking, mastering yeast breads, bagels, cheesecakes, and classic fruit pie techniques. We will mix hands-on cooking with games, food safety training and team building. The week culminates in a Friday evening baking showcase, where proud pastry chefs will serve samples of their creations to their families.

Introduction of our instructor: I’m Chef Amelie Rousseau. I have been a Culinary Arts instructor for a decade, and have taught thousands of people how to use a knife, bake bread, roll sushi and make ice cream. After a week in my class, your child will leave full of inspiration and the confidence to get creative in the kitchen. I have a Masters in holistic nutrition and I know that food is our best medicine.
When I’m not teaching, I am exploring the ancient cities of Egypt and Peru, sipping coffee in Rome and eating street tacos in Mexico. I can’t wait to cook, create, and learn with you and your family!
